About H.U.G.S.II

The Town of Easton and the community have taken a strong stand against Domestic Violence. A group of town employees have formed a Family Violence Task Force to educate and heighten the awareness among town employees, students, and all community members. The goal is to prevent violence and to provide assistance for early intervention.  This group has developed a community Round Table, and a non-profit organization called "H.U.G.S.II".

H.U.G.S.- "Help Us Get Safe", was developed in East Bridgewater by Officer Cunningham, through a collaborative effort with the East Bridgewater Police and the Brockton Family Center. We have begun a chapter of HUGS in Easton, to assist victims in our community.  Very seldom is a victim afforded the opportunity to pack belongings of any sort, for either themselves or their children, when they escape from the relationship. The reason for this is because all too frequently, they are running for their lives. The result of escaping often means no home, no clothes, no food, no money, not even a bar of soap.

H.U.G.S. II plans to develop safe houses, assist with travel and child care, and most of all offer victims and their children the help they need to overcome the overwhelming obstacles of leaving an abusive relationship.

If there is any way you can be of help, either financially, or in meeting such needs as housing, commodities (personal care items, diapers, etc.), it  truly would be appreciated.

Monetary donations,  which are tax deductible, should be made out to : H.U.G.S II.
